Announcing a New Children's Ministry Director

We are happy to announce that Mrs. Nicci Fahle will be joining our church staff as our part-time Children's Ministry Director. Nicci and her husband Brodie have been in our congregation for a long time. You might know Nicci through her worship leadership singing with the 9:30 Connect team. They have three children Conner, Colton, and Annastyn.

Nicci officially began Wednesday, February 17, 2021. In addition to adding Nicci to our staff, Rev. David Garvin will assume additional responsibility to grow our children's ministry. This will include directing, resourcing, and developing the children's ministry with Nicci. David will continue all his duties as Youth Pastor.

The Children's Ministry Director position will be part-time. Nicci is already one of our preschool teachers and will continue her work with the Shalimar Preschool. We anticipate the Children's Ministry Director's position will return to full-time in the future. Therefore, this short-term plan is considered interim. SPR will continue to assess the best permanent plan for meeting the needs of the church.

We are grateful for the three volunteers that helped us bridge our recent staffing gap. These include Melanie Bandy, Chris Day, and Jennifer McRae. Please take a moment to thank these three awesome ladies for stepping in and stepping up in this time between directors.

Kathy Curry has offered to mentor Nicci as she begins her new role. Kathy currently leads our children's choirs. She has devoted much of her life to the children's ministry. I consider her to be a "guru" of children's ministry with all her wisdom and experience.

This action, plan, and implementation of a part-time Children's Ministry Director results from significant time and work from our Church Administrator, SPR, and Lead Pastor. It is time for us all to get behind our children's ministry! Let's all extend a warm welcome to Nicci, our new Children's Director!

Shalom,
Philip
