Welcome Rev Carlos Jones
There is good news for this Sunday! I am delighted to announce we will have guest preacher Reverend Carlos Jones, the Senior Pastor of Campton First Baptist Church of Laurel Hill in North Okaloosa County to us preach this Sunday. Carlos wears three hats. He is a pastor, a lieutenant in the Shalimar Police Department, and an investigator. He is also the police officer who came to my aid following my bike accident. He has also become my friend and a colleague in Christ!
Here is Carlos’ bio in brief:
Pastor Carlos L. Jones is the Pastor of Campton First Baptist Church in Laurel Hill, Florida. Born in Selma, Alabama, he attended Selma High School. After graduation, Pastor Jones attended the Alabama Criminal Justice program where he served as a Selma City police officer for 13 years before moving to Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He married the love of his life, First Lady Chandis Jones to which they share a son Carlos, Jr. Pastor Jones is currently employed as a Code Enforcement Officer for Okaloosa County. Pastor Jones is a graduate of Northwest Florida State College and is currently attending the University of Mobile studying Pastoral Counseling and Leadership. Pastor Jones is a talented musician and singer and loves preaching and teaching the word of God.
Well, I never would have wished to have that bike accident! Even so, I am glad I have a new friend, and I am eager for him to preach to us this Sunday! The teaching of Romans 8:28 “God works all things for good to those that love the Lord” rings true. The parable of the Good Samaritan will never read quite the same again as Carlos really came to my aid when he could have just passed me by on the other side of Eglin Blvd.
I hope you will make every effort to attend in person or tune in by Livestream. The Lord is at work in our church and in our community!
