Bands – How it Works

Living life together is one of the most foundational aspects of the Christian life. Whether you're worshipping in-person or online, a small group that gathers through technology may be exactly what you need.

These groups are NOT Bible studies. Yes, scripture is involved, but it's for reflection and conversation. The groups help you pray for one another, support one another and live life together.

A discipleship band is a group of 3-5 people who read together, pray together and meet together to become the love of God for one another and the world.

Change is long. Change is hard. Change is slow. And change is glorious. If we want to pursue the fullness of life as a new creation, we must meet one another at a new level. Go this way with us. It will not be the easiest thing you will ever do, but it will be the most powerful and one of the graces for which you will be most grateful.

The group will journey through spiritual formation books together and have a formation to follow each week. There is a 21-day guide to help you get started. After that, you can pick from others like it.

If you're interested, fill out the form to sign up for the Zoom. If you can't make it, still sign up so you can get the information afterward.

Pastor Faith will assign people into groups. She will teach everyone how to get started in the Zoom. There's no "leader." Just a small group of people drawing closer to God together. (You don't have to use Zoom to participate in these groups.)

First Book

The first book I recommend takes people through how to meet in a Band.

Bands are the original small groups that John Wesley formed that made the Methodist movement spread all over the world. It uses a regular formation. This format is designed to develop Christian formation through living life together.

You can join with your group through the free app discipleshipbands.com/app and the readings are available for free on the app.
