Join us as we celebrate Christ's victory over sin and death. We have 4 opportunities to worship, both in-person and online.

Traditions Services

Our Traditions service has everything you’d expect in traditional worship. Our sanctuary is filled with stained glass and oak pews, creating a warm, worship environment. The organ and piano lead the hymns, and there is a rotation of ensemble, handbells, and orchestra.

Our worship team provides a mix of contemporary and traditional elements. If you love church traditions and a bit more pep in your music, Connect is the perfect place for you. You can expect things like corporate prayers, the grand piano mixed with the drums,  electric guitar, and weekly communion.

Freedom Service

  • 11:07am – In-Person & Online
Freedom will wake you up with a full band, lighting effects, and creative elements. This modern worship space will provide a spiritual connection. No matter your church background, you'll fit right in. Come dressed, how you feel comfortable. Our goal is to create an environment where you can meet God and have your life changed.

Holy Week

Holy Week begins on March 28th with the waving of palm branches while shouting "Hosanna!" to the confusion of one ritual and creation of another, to the sham trial and gathering of the mob shouting "Crucify Him!" to the slow painful journey to the cross ending with a triumphant shout and darkening skies, Holy Week captures the most important week in the history of the faith. We remember as we worship the One who gave His life for us.

Come celebrate Christ, the resurrection, and HIS love at SUMC Kidz’ annual Easter Fest from 9am-1pm. There will be fun for all with crafts, games, egg hunts, and more.
9am - 11am  Crafts and Games | 11am - 12pm Easter Egg Hunts | 11am 1 to 4-year-old Egg Hunt | 11:20am 5 to 9-year-old Egg Hunt | 11:40am: 10 and up Egg Hunt | 1pm Closing
Our Chancel Choir & Orchestra presents their Easter Cantata, "May We Never Lose the Wonder!" You can see this special event at the 8, 9:30, and 11 am services in the Sanctuary, in-person or online.
The Easter Lily Project is a way to honor or remember someone and help others at the same time. All proceeds go to support the following missions.

  1. Blessings for Children
  2. Bread House
  3. Methodist Homes of Alabama and Northwest Florida
  4. Safe Connections

We will honor your loved ones in the Beacon and on service slides April 4, 2021. You may donate any amount. Send an email to office@shalimar-umc.org, download a form and return to church, or drop off a note at the office with the following information:
  • Your Name      
  • Donation Amount
  • Message you would like to place in Beacon honoring or remembering a loved one

40-Day Lent Devotions

Join us for the journey from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday. These 40 days is a time of preparation. Jesus gave everything for us–let's make this time special. Devotions will post online at 6:00 am each morning.

Pastors Philip, Brad, David, Faith, and Matt will rotate recorded devotional thoughts each day. You can watch them at noon each day on our social networking pages or our website.
